Angiodysplasias

Angiodysplasias are rare congenital vascular malformations that pathologically alter the structure of blood vessels and blood circulation. They can affect all organs and regions of the body, particularly the arms and legs. Impaired blood circulation often leads to pain, blood loss, swelling, and changes to the skin.

This may result in secondary conditions with functional impairments or loss of function.

Additional features may include:
– Naevus flammeus (port-wine stain)
– Varicose veins that visually resemble varicose veins
– Hypertrophy of the affected body region
– Lymphatic congestion
